As a producer and marketer of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, products directly linked to patient's lives. Teijin Pharma recognizes the great Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) it shoulders for society.
Among a host of CSR challenges, society has recently demanded that companies channel their resources with top priority to "environmental management" for the alleviation of global environmental concerns. The company is scaling up its response to "environmental preservation" and "environment-friendly design" throughout the entire operation cycle for pharmaceutical and medical device products - research, development, production, marketing, and disposal.

Focusing on a goal of "environmental preservation" in daily operations
As a commitment to sustainable society, Teijin Pharma is taking challenging steps to reduce CO2 emission during manufacturing stage. In the clean rooms in which we produce our pharmaceutical and medical device products, for example, we have introduced individual air-conditioning and production systems to allow for effective reduction of CO2 emission. We also have been redesigning our packaging materials to reduce the environmental impact.
We have also been endeavoring to reduce CO2 emissions in our marketing activities. By adopting hybrid and clean diesel cars for all of its marketing-purpose automobiles, for example, Teijin Pharma will reduce CO2 emissions and fuel use.

Eco-products with "environment-friendly design"
Besides introducing universal designs to allow easy use of our products for everyone, Teijin Pharma has been designing every product more compactly, with energy-saving features. The company also aims to develop long-life products with good recyclability to minimize environmental impact in product life cycles.
Among our oxygen concentrators for Home Oxygen Therapy, Hi-Sanso™ 2U has improved operability and a more compact design, as well as better energy-saving performance.
